Scharnhorstfest

Every year in May you can experience history up close in Großgörschen with the reenactment of the historical battle (La Bataille de Lützen) of May 2, 1813. At this event, you will learn more about the history of the Wars of Liberation from 1813-1815.

The battle of Lützen was Napoleon's first victory during the Spring campaign of 1813, but he was unable to take full advantage of his victory. The Prussians and Russians were able to escape east with their armies largely intact.
