Beamish, the living history museum of the North, lets you explore life in North-east England in the 1820s, 1900s, and 1940s. The site is divided into several parts like Pockerly, Pit Village, 1940s Farm, 1900s town and many more. While not really close to London, it's still definitely worth a visit!
Opening hours:
6 April 2019 to 3 November 2019: open daily from 10 am to 5 pm.
4 November 2019 to 27 March 2020: open daily from 10 am to 4 pm.
